What is SEND IASS?
‘SENDIASS’ stands for Special Educational Needs and Disability Information Advice and Support Service. Up until September 2014 we were called the Parent Partnership service and have been supporting parents and carers since 1999.
The service changed following the implementation of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the new SEND Code of Practice. The SENDIASS legal obligations and responsibilities are set out in Chapter 2 of the SEND Code of Practice 2014.
In addition to offering an impartial, confidential service to parents and carers of children and young people with SEN and disability, we now offer a service to children and young people, who may want to receive information, advice or support themselves – see our page specifically for children and young people.
